Pre-registration Timeline

As a reminder, you must have your Spring 2010 course plan finalized by your advisor before 5 pm, Monday, November 16 in order to have the plan included in the pre-registration scheduling program. On Tuesday, November 17, you may view the courses that were scheduled.

The adjustment period will begin on Wednesday, November 18 and end on Tuesday, December 1. During that time, you will have the opportunity to make adjustments to your pre-registration schedule and add ranked drop/add enrollment requests.

Honors Informational Session

Wednesday, September 10 at 12:15 pm in FISK 210

A brief presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.

Enrollment in the University

The Registrar’s Office is looking forward to welcoming new and continuing students to campus for the fall 2009 semester. In preparation for your arrival, we have the following important reminders:

After you arrive on campus, please visit the Enrollment, Holds & Addresses site in your electronic portfolio. This site allows you to view your holds and provides you with instructions on how to release them. You will be able to update your personal data, emergency contacts and parent information online. Most importantly, with a simple click on the Enroll Me button from any computer on the Wesleyan Campus you will be enrolled.

All students must enroll no later than Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. – the end of the first day of classes. If you do not enroll through the portfolio by this date you will be required to come to the Registrar’s Office to enroll in person and will be charged a $25 late enrollment fee. You must click the Enroll Me button in order to participate in Drop/Add as well.

Even if you have unresolved enrollment holds you must click the Enroll Me button before 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8. This will make you provisionally enrolled. Please note that it is your responsibility to clear your holds by following the instructions that are given on the Holds Page in your portfolio. You will not be able to charge at Broad Street Books until the next business day after you have cleared all of your holds and have become enrolled.

As soon as the appropriate department releases your holds, you will automatically become officially enrolled. You will not need to click the Enroll Me button again. If your holds are not cleared by Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 5:00 pm, you may be administratively withdrawn from the University.

Please be sure to click the Enroll Me button before 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8 and to clear all of your holds no later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15.

End of Semester Transcripts

Graduating students in the class of 2009 will receive a complimentary copy of their transcript. This will be mailed to the home address on record and should arrive by the 3rd-4th week of June.

Honors Informational Sessions, Reminder

Attention Juniors! As a reminder, if you are thinking about writing an Honors thesis next year, please consider attending one of the Honors Informational Sessions being held in Fisk 210 on the following dates:

Wednesday, April 15 at 4:15 pm

Online Major Declaration

The Undergraduate Major Declaration card has been replaced by an online process accessible through the Student Portfolio. The “Major Declaration” application is located in the Wesleyan Career bucket, which can be accessed via http://quicklink.wesleyan.edu/majordec. Use the online system to make all Add or Drop major requests.

Please note that you will receive an automated email from the Department/Program/College upon submitting an Add request. This email will contain instructions and other relevant information. Students are encouraged to pay special attention to this email and to follow any requirements/instructions in order to get their major request approved.

Spring 2009 Drop/Add Process and Tutorial Registration

The Drop/Add System opened on Wednesday, January 21, the first day of classes for the Spring 2009 semester. Beginning this semester, students will enroll in tutorials (Individual, Group, Research, or Senior Thesis or Essay) through the Drop/Add System. We encourage you to access the following resources for more information about the Tutorial registration process; the Tutorial Registration Manual and the Online Tutorial FAQ.

The Drop/Add System will close at 11:59 on Tuesday, February 3. After Drop/Add closes, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your schedule by logging into the student portfolio and clicking on Current Classes & Schedule. You must confirm your spring 2009 schedule in order to participate in pre-registration in April.

Fall 2008 End of Semester Information

Grades that have been submitted to the Registrar’s Office are posted to students’ records on a nightly basis. If you submitted all required teaching evaluations by the deadline, you may view your Fall 2008 grades on your Academic History page in the portfolio. If you did not submit all required teaching evaluations by the deadline, you will have access to your Fall 2008 grades beginning January 20, 2009. All Fall 2008 grades must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office no later than Monday, January 5. If a grade is still missing after that date and you submitted all required teaching evaluations by the deadline, please contact your instructor.

Important Upcoming Deadlines

The Registrar’s Office would like to remind students of the following deadlines:

The last day to withdraw from full-semester and second-quarter classes is Thursday, November 13. Completed forms are due in the Registrar’s Office by 5 pm and must include the following signatures: instructor, faculty advisor, and class dean.
The deadline for submission of leave of absence applications for Spring 2009 is Monday, December 1. All completed applications are due in the Registrar’s Office by 5 pm that day.
